Meet Envista

Map-Based Infrastructure Coordination

Envista is an enterprise suite of dynamic map-based solutions delivered via the web, providing visibility and real-time insight into street projects and activities of all kinds that occur within the public right-of-way (ROW).  Envista enables proactive management of utility projects, public works, permitting, incidents, traffic, and events to optimize street performance, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.

Envista eliminates the time-consuming and error-prone process of manually sharing project or other information through spreadsheets and numerous follow-up emails.  Instead, this dynamic web solution automatically captures information from existing applications across multiple stakeholder organizations using our patent-pending technology.  Envista then aggregates this information using business rules in a common, highly secure map-based environment where up-to-date information on multiple ROW activities is color-coded and displayed graphically for each stakeholder.

ROW information is also available in tabular form, allowing you to drill down for additional details.  All information is presented in geographical and temporal context, allowing real-time coordination among utilities (gas, electric, telecommunications), municipalities, universities, government agencies, and other entities with a vested interest in the public right-of-way.  It is a powerful way to identify potential conflicts and mitigate wasteful construction or street impact due to poor project, event, incident, or permit sequencing.  By allowing you to identify potential conflicts and opportunities proactively, Envista enables more efficient utilization of financial and human resources, and ultimately supports better service to the public.

Envista is Software-as-a-Service

With Envista, all the information related to activities in the ROW is securely managed "in the cloud" and universally accessed via the web.  There is no programming or special equipment required for you to use Envista—that's because Envista is "Software-as-a-Service."  All you need is a web browser and access to the Internet.  There's also no need to change any existing applications or work processes.  Envista uses highly sophisticated business rules to import and integrate data from multiple entities into a common map-based environment, consolidating and streamlining processes, while eliminating double data entry and the errors so often associated with it.  You can choose from a wide range of import tools that automatically format project data and other information into the Envista environment.  And thanks to Envista's patent-pending technology, any time you add or update work orders, permits, spatial data, documents, or databases, that information is automatically updated in the Envista map-based environment.

As a customer, you gain access to Envista through a secure customer portal located at www.envista.com and pay for the service on an annual subscription basis.  Through this innovative approach, multiple entities with projects and activities in the same geographic area can see each other's plans simultaneously, as well as share plan details dynamically using collaboration tools that help resolve issues and improve communication.  Because the Envista enterprise ROW solution is managed centrally and delivered through the web, your total cost of ownership is much lower and your ability to achieve a return on investment can be measured in months, rather than years.

Envista is Easy

Envista makes it easy and efficient to add information on ROW activities to the map-based environment.  Project data, for example, can be imported from a wide range of formats, including spreadsheets and GIS shapefiles.  Envista then automatically maps the data attributes from these files to the associated Envista attributes.  The key is Envista's business rules, which compare all the data associated with ROW activities so users can identify and resolve conflicts before they impact schedules, budgets, and the public.  Users get alerts from the interactive map, and they can manage everything through an online "dashboard" that provides critical planning information at-a-glance.  It's a powerful set of tools and resources to inform decisions about where and when ROW activities should take place, as well as identify opportunities for coordinating with other stakeholders to help reduce the time and cost associated with completing the work, thus minimizing negative impacts on the public.  It's also just as easy to export data back out of Envista into spreadsheets or delimited files, and even publish selected information and maps to the public on the web.
