Hosts Envista Best Practices Seminar Following Expo

Beverly, MA – August 9, 2010 - Envista Corporation, the exclusive provider of web-based software for infrastructure project coordination, will showcase their “Smarter Streets” technology at the APWA 2010 International Public Works Exposition and Congress, from August 15-18 at the Boston Convention Center in Boston, MA. “Smarter Streets” is a new suite of solutions that locate, coordinate, and communicate all activities that occur in the Right of Way, and links planned or unplanned events to traffic management. Envista is a map-based platform used by municipalities and utilities to share construction and maintenance projects and schedules via the Internet using a standard browser. At any time, Envista users can view project locations on a map and view essential details such as dates, contact details, conflicts, and much more.

In Booth 1115, Envista will spotlight its "Smarter Streets" software for event/incident management, smart permitting and location intelligence. City departments can quickly and easily coordinate and plan civic events including parades, road races, and festivals. Envista automatically maps event locations and determine related impacts such as traffic routing, parking, variable message signs, traffic officers, and more. For unplanned events or incidents that demand a rapid response, Envista users can map the location of the incident and create a coordinated plan of action. The new software release also provides instant location "intelligence" to the permitting process by showing permits on a web-based map. Permit information is essential to the work of many city and town departments and utilities. This new functionality is only available from Envista.

Directly following the APWA Congress, Envista will host a Best Practices Seminar on Thursday, August 19 at the Exchange Conference Center in Boston's historic Seaport District on Boston Harbor. Organizations from the United States, Canada, and Europe will come together to share their experiences and best practices using Envista. The event will include several educational sessions throughout the day including a Best Practices roundtable, a preview of the new product release, a networking luncheon, future product directions and user feedback/ideas. The agenda will also include present cost savings calculations, realized and potential, based on real world applications of Envista. At the end of the day, a training session will be held to promote the usage of Envista as an effective management tool.
