What do I need to use Envista?

You will need a DSL or Cable connection to the internet along with a Firefox or Internet Explorer web browser. The browser must have Java Script enabled (this is a browser setting). You will need a Flash plug-in for your browser to view the dashboard (Download Flash). If you are going to be exporting or using reports, and you use a pop-up blocker, you will need to add Envista to the allowed sites (add this in Internet Options section of your browser).

How do I add a project?

You can create a project directly in Envista by selecting Add (from the action bar) in the Projects module and choosing either the Quick Add or Add with Details form. All you need to do is complete the required fields on the form and define the project location. You can define the project location in one of three ways:

  1. Type the address in the address fields of the form
  2. Click to select the location on the map
  3. Use the Address Search function.

Complete the form and click Submit to create the project. You can immediately view the project you just added in the project list.

How do I import projects?
To begin the import process you will need to download the Envista Import Template. The template is an Excel spreadsheet that you will use to import your projects. Enter your project data into the template and save it on your computer (you can rename it). Then, from the Projects module, select Import. On the Import screen, select the template you want to upload and click Upload. When the import process is complete, Envista displays an Import Log on the screen that confirms which rows were imported successfully and which rows, if any, had errors. You can immediately view the projects you imported in the project list.

How do I use Address Search to specify a location?

You can use Address Search to specify a location by typing a street address (or cross streets) in the address search field and clicking Go. Envista will geo-code the location and display an arrow (with a balloon) on the map. Inside the balloon you can choose an option to Use as FROM location or Use as TO location. Envista will automatically populate the form with the To or From location. You can then use Address Search for your next location. Address Search recognizes several ways to specify a location – a specific address, cross streets, offsets, etc. Listed below are some common examples:

  • 200 Cabot St, Beverly, MA
  • Cabot St & Washington St, Beverly, MA
  • 200 Cabot St (offset 50 feet north), Beverly, MA
